Basic Spindle Turning Class

(Pre-requisite for Advanced - Baluster Leg)
In this class you learn about lathe safety, how to sharpen lathe tools correctly, how to approach the lathe,
the "turner's sway", and how to use the roughing out gouge to rough out, shape, and smooth gently curved
objects. Finally you will learn how to use the skew. Mastering the skew enables you to easily get a satiny gloss on your turning without using any sandpaper. Many turners never
accede to that level. Our class makes it simple to begin mastering the skew. Students gain the self-confidence
to safely approach the turning with the skew's knife edge and quickly produce truly impressive results.
