"Thank you both for an outstanding experience last week You, Chris, and Kevin all helped to make the week a joy. Your instructions were excellent and your patience in working with me was a wonder to behold. I hope to be able to make it back in another year to make another chair." ......Bob Nielsen, Naperville, IL (2005)
"Thank you for the fun week. Chris, your food was delicious. Thank you Bill for all the help and useful knowledge in making our chairs. We will never stop talking about our experiences working in your shop and the great meals we ate in your lovely home." ......Bud and Kay Laubach, Keithsburg, IL (2005)
"Thanks again for the wonderful week of woodworking and fellowship. The class was everything I was hoping it would be. I learned a lot about woodworking that will be helpful far beyond chairmaking. As I mentioned on Saturday, I really love the way you structure and conduct the class, mealtimes, and lodging. On my drive back to Manhattan, one of the things that struck me was the pace of each day: work in the shop was punctuated by leasurely mealtimes (great homemade food and good conversation); that's a great combination. A highly skilled woodworker friend of mine wanted me to make a windsor chair. Unfortunately, he took a class from another instructor. His chair made me appreciate the course I took with you even more. I never wanted to become a "chair snob" but, alas, I think I'm becoming one. Thanks so much for the experience." ......Steve Ratliff, Manhattan, Kansas (2006)
"Dear Bill and Chris, I have had a chance to reflect on my experience at your place for about a week now and want to thank you both for the fine time I had. It was all I expected and more. I especially enjoyed the meals (a special thank you to Chris) and the fine conversation." ......Frank Britton, Valparaiso, Indiana (2006)
"My family and I had a wonderful time at Windsor Academy. Bill and Chris are great hosts; we felt so welcome. The instruction in chair making was superb and very insightful. I learned a ton. I don't have much woodworking experience, yet since my class two months ago, I am in the process of completing two chairs. And I really appreciate the fact that Bill still continues to teach me and answer any questions that I have through email." ......Duane Lindsey, Farmington, Missouri (2006)
"I think your class was great. That was the best money I spent in my life. I really enjoyed my time with you and your wife. The food was worth the money alone. I would recommend your class to anyone. ......Don Jauregui, Kemmerer, Wyoming (2006)
"The Windsor chairmaking class I took from you last fall was OUTSTANDING!!! I can't imagine there are many classes out there where the instructor is willing to work from Sunday to Saturday, on a 12 hour a day schedule to make sure each part of the process is covered. Sharpening, riving logs, wood turning, sculpting the seat, setting the legs, drying, bending the seat back, carving the spindles, assembly, and painting are all covered. The course was well organized and there was ample supply of quality lumber to build our chairs. I liked the chance to try a number of different tools to determine what to look for when setting up my own shop. I was also impressed by your knowledge and willingness to provide potential supply sources. The other woodworkers, your family, and the setting added so much to the experience. Your home with the many different styles of furniture you have built over the years was so wonderful. Great people, wonderful food, beautiful surroundings, and woodworking what more could I ask for in a vacation. Please feel free to refer my name to anyone wanting to talk with one of your students." ......Wayne Johns, West Bountiful, Utah (2006)
"We really enjoyed the class and your gracious hospitality. It was a challenge for us to get that much done in one week, and we could not have done so without your excellent instruction and assistance. We really like the chairs we made. ......A.J. and Emily Hyatt, Uba City, California (2006)
"Thanks for your hospitality during my second trip to the Windsor Academy. Two years ago, I had a great experience learning how to build a Windsor chair with you. That was great fun! So I was excited to come back to the Academy to take the Advanced Woodturning class. Spending the entire weekend working to improve my woodturning skills was very rewarding. Over the years I have completed many woodturning projects, but have not been able to produce really crisp details. Spending a weekend with you focused on improving my turning skills was everything I hoped it would be. I now feel that with your help I have taken my ability to the next level! Bill you are a great teacher and coach. Thanks again!" ......Jay Boot, St. Joseph, Michigan (2006)
"Thank you so much for everything. It has been a great experience in every way. I will never forget it. Hope to come again soon." ......Stig Brandvik, Oslo, Norway (2007)
